HORMAT (Respect)

Amerindo Self-Defense System is founded by Guru Besar Jim Ingram on the principle of survival.  Guru Besar Jim Ingram has lived through 10 consecutive year of war starting with and surviving Japanese occupation of Indonesia during World War II.  He has dedicated his life to training and teaching the most unique forms of self-defense and sharing his experience with many throughout the world.

"I feel that Oom Jim Ingram is a living legend who’s knowledge is unsurpassed, and I am honored to be his student and to carry on his tradition. Without him I would not have any of this, all credit goes to him and his teachers before him. This system is not mine, I am merely passing it on. I practice , share, and will always be a learner and I’m forever grateful. As his teachers did for him , he has also given me an education about life, the value of life , respect, and the GERAKAN PUMBELAN DIRI BEBAS (freedom in self- defense movement)"

ABOUT US

Pentjak Silat is not Karate, Kung Fu, Tae Kwon Do, Jujitsu or MMA (Mixed Martial Arts).  It is however a rarely seen, highly sophisticated and physically effective fighting system from Indonesia.  The system is a combination of finesse, application of physics, knowledge of anatomy and how energy is directed.  The movements of Pentjak Silat are unbelievably deceptive, fluid, powerful and swift.  It is known for it's graceful and almost effortless movements.  The beauty and grace of this art changes like lightning into one of the most effective ways of self-defense.  This style of martial arts is composed of multiple strikes, takedowns, sweeps, joint locks, ground, knife, and stick fighting.
